Auteur Russian River

The Auteur tasting room was designed for a family-owned winery that specializes in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines.  The tasting room features a long, partial-height stone wall with a thin floating roof as the primary schematic gesture.  The transom glazing wraps the entire perimeter of the building with wide open views of the Russian River and Mt. Jackson. The gravity system of the building features a grid of thin structural steel beams and columns infilled with light timber framing. The lateral system is comprised of steel moment frames and plywood shear walls.
